‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ is Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fundraising event. People across the UK – and sometimes further afield – hold coffee mornings where donations are made to Macmillan. In 2012 115,000 people signed up to coffee morning, raising a record 15 million pounds. This year Macmillan want to raise even more money to help change the lives of people affected by cancer.
The challenge for the creative retail design team at H Squared this year is a competition to bake the best cake. With with pride and honour at stake, we are all checking our best Jamie Oliver and Delia Smith cook books to ensure we come up with the tastiest and best looking cake we can! Let’s hope we can transfer some of our creative retail design skills into creative cake design and baking skills!
How did the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning start?
The event started in 1990, when a local fundraising committee decided to hold a coffee morning where people came along to meet and mingle – as they might ordinarily do – but donate the cost of their coffee to Macmillan in the process.
Come down to the H Squared studios on Friday 27th, between 10.30am until 11.30am and enjoy the cakes and bakes made by the creative retail design team here. Chuck whatever pennies you can afford into the charity box and have a great break from all the stress of the retail world!
